If you are in grades 7th or 8th you can apply to be a student ambassador for the 2018-2019 school year!

Remember applications are due every year; once applications are selected and approved, you will be invited to be a part of an interview. Results will soon follow. All dates are final.

What is the Clay Chalkville Middle School Ambassador Program?

Student Ambassadors serve as the first point of contact to thousands of students each year.  The goal of the program is to educate prospective students, families, school groups, and the general public on the programs, resources and student life at CCMS.

The Application Process:  (applicants must be in 7th and 8th grade)

  1. Print an application from the counselors’ website.
  2. Ask one of your teachers to complete a recommendation form.
  3. Complete each section of the application and return to the counselors’ suite by 1:00 pm Wednesday, May 11, 2016.

The Selection Process:

The interview panel will rate the applicant on a scale of 0 (lowest) to 3 (highest) according to the following:

  1. Applications are reviewed and rated based on:

    Turning application in on time

    Detailed answers and completed essay

    Teacher recommendation

  2.  The most qualified applicants will be invited to an interview.  The interview panel will rate each candidate according to:

    Personal appearance



    Communication skills

    Community and service commitment

  3. Selected students to be interviewed will be announced:  Monday, May 9th.

*If selected, students will be asked to purchase a polo or t-shirt designed by the group.  Other small fees or items may be associated with various activities. 


Responsibilities of Clay Chalkville Middle School Ambassadors:

            Attend training in various team building programs

            Attend monthly group meetings

            Meet and greet visitors and introduce them to faculty and staff members

            Conduct tours of the school and explain various school programs

            Participate in community and service activities

            Organize student wide programs within the school

            Demonstrate leadership and become a role model for other students

            Participate as a trainer for new ambassadors

Maintain a “C” average or better in all subjects.  If grade(s) drop, then the student will be asked to meet with the advisors to determine a probationary period in order to improve grades.

Abide by student code of conduct.  *If there is an extreme behavioral situation, the teacher and advisors will determine if removal from the Ambassador program is necessary.

Ambassador Program Leadership Training:

Training will take place at the middle school during advisory/lunch time and after school.

Ambassadors Service Time:

Students will serve for one calendar year.  After a review of your commitment, your grades, and faculty feedback, ambassadors may be invited to serve for an additional year.  At times, ambassadors may be asked to meet on Saturdays or after school.
